1. Types of Information Collected and How Is It Used
The Chamber collects information from site visitors and users in a variety of ways.
When visitors access the Chamber’s site, the Chamber collects non-personal information such as the domain from which you access the Internet; the IP address of your computer; the date and time you access the Chamber’s site; and the internet address of the Website from which you linked to the Chamber’s site. The Chamber uses this information only to evaluate its own site.
The Chamber’s site users may provide personal information. Users that are not members of the Chamber may provide contact information such as name, company name, address, phone and email address. The Chamber will use that information for communication purposes with the site user. If the user is registering for an event at the Chamber, the contact information may be given to other registrants of the event. Information that is provided to us by Chamber members, may be used for communicating with them or in publications of the Chamber.
If a site user purchases a product or service from the Chamber’s site, the Chamber maintains a record of the online purchase. If the user provides credit card information, that information will only be used for that one purchase.
The Chamber attempts to have as high security levels for its website, although you should be aware the 100% security is not always achievable. We use SSL encryption technology when you submit credit card information over the Internet on our site. If you e-mail information to us, we have no way to protect that information until it reaches us.
Members of the Chamber have the ability to submit information to us with the use of an ID and password. The credentials should be protected by the member to ensure proper use.
Cookies are messages that web servers pass to your web browser when you visit Internet sites. Your browser stores each message in a small file, called cookie.txt. When you request another page from the server, your browser sends the cookie back to the server. These files typically contain information about your visit to the web page, as well as any information you’ve volunteered, such as your name and contact information.
For privacy reasons, you may wish to view the cookies currently stored in your browser or control which sites you accept cookies from.
4. Other Web Sites
The Chamber’s site contains links to other sites. The Chamber does not control the information collection and distribution policies of Internet domains other than those of the Waupaca Area Chamber and is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such domains.
5. Updating User Information
Members of the Chamber may update information on the site by logging onto the Members Only page of the site using an ID and password assigned by the Chamber. To obtain the login credentials, a member may click on the link provided on the page or contact the Chamber office.
6. Opt Out of Communications
Many of the email communications sent by the Chamber have an “Unsubscribe” or other similar link which may be used to contact the Chamber if you no longer want to receive communications. You may also contact the Chamber at [email protected]/.
